Scope: Shared / Platform

Manual Taxonomy — 2026-03-18

Purpose

This note defines how the SUMMA manual tree should be classified going forward.

Default rule

Unless clearly marked otherwise, material in this manual should be treated as shared SUMMA/platform documentation.

Buckets

1. Shared / Platform

Use this for: - intake method - review method - diff logic - file organization doctrine - evidence handling patterns - export/report philosophy - reusable operator workflow - cross-vertical concepts - architecture explanations that apply beyond one vertical

2. CRIM-Specific

Use this for: - criminal procedure - criminal disclosure workflow - criminal case theory handling - criminal issue bundles - criminal strategy layers - criminal-specific examples that do not generalize well

3. Future Commercial / General / Ledger-Side

Use this for: - commercial/general document review workflows - civil/commercial examples - contract/compliance/general matter review methods - product ideas intended to become Ledger-facing material later

Authoring rule

When writing or editing manual pages: - keep shared concepts in the shared/platform lane - mark criminal-only content explicitly - avoid writing as if all future non-criminal work belongs under CRIM - avoid path churn unless a real boundary becomes necessary
