13 — Fast Paths by Role

Not every reader should enter the manual the same way.
That is not a weakness in the manual. It is a recognition of reality. Different people arrive with different needs, different levels of patience, different responsibilities, and different reasons for opening the document in the first place. One reader wants to understand the product vision quickly. Another wants to understand the legal workflow. Another wants to understand the technical room. Another wants to understand what makes the premium ladder special. If every reader is forced through the exact same path at the exact same speed, many of them will lose the thread before they reach the parts most relevant to them.
This chapter exists to prevent that.
The full manual is still the deepest path. But there should also be faster role-based routes through it. These routes do not replace the full manual. They help the reader get oriented sooner.
Fast Path 1 — The product-first reader
This path is for the reader who wants to understand what SUMMA is, why it exists, and why it matters before getting lost in detail.
Read in this order:
- Founder’s Preface
- Chapter 1 — What SUMMA Is and Why It Exists
- Chapter 2 — The Whole Engine in Plain English
- Chapter 7 — The Premium Ladder
- Chapter 12 — Operating Principles and Company Standards
This path gives the reader the product’s mission, architecture at a high level, premium ambition, and company standard without forcing them through the entire technical or legal apparatus immediately.
Fast Path 2 — The legal-workflow reader
This path is for the reader who understands little about criminal-file reality and needs to know why the file becomes hard.
Read in this order:
- Chapter 8 — Criminal Workflow Orientation
- Chapter 9 — Evidence and Review Fundamentals
- Chapter 10 — Advanced Review Behavior
- Chapter 11 — Human Work and User Reality
- Chapter 7 — The Premium Ladder
This path explains the legal environment first, then the cognitive burden, then the premium response to that burden.
Fast Path 3 — The technical reader
This path is for the reader who wants to understand the repo, the documentation environment, and the product architecture.
Read in this order:
- Chapter 4 — Repo, Git, and GitHub Orientation
- Chapter 5 — Repo Map and Folder Guide
- Chapter 6 — Product Architecture
- Chapter 3 — Master Terminology Dictionary
- Chapter 12 — Operating Principles and Company Standards
This path helps the reader understand how the machine is organized technically before asking them to absorb the whole legal or strategic worldview.
Fast Path 4 — The premium-ladder reader
This path is for the reader most interested in what makes SUMMA special at the higher levels.
Read in this order:
- Chapter 2 — The Whole Engine in Plain English
- Chapter 6 — Product Architecture
- Chapter 7 — The Premium Ladder
- Chapter 10 — Advanced Review Behavior
- Chapter 12 — Operating Principles and Company Standards
This path explains the product from machine to moat.
Fast Path 5 — The onboarding reader who feels overwhelmed
This path is for the intelligent reader who simply needs a safer, calmer entry into the material.
Read in this order:
- Chapter 5 — Repo Map and Folder Guide
- Chapter 1 — What SUMMA Is and Why It Exists
- Chapter 8 — Criminal Workflow Orientation
- Chapter 11 — Human Work and User Reality
- Chapter 2 — The Whole Engine in Plain English
This path starts with orientation, then mission, then legal context, then human reality, then architecture.
Fast Path 6 — The future operator / reviewer
This path is for the reader who may actually work inside the file and needs to understand how serious review behaves.
Read in this order:
- Chapter 8 — Criminal Workflow Orientation
- Chapter 9 — Evidence and Review Fundamentals
- Chapter 10 — Advanced Review Behavior
- Chapter 6 — Product Architecture
- Chapter 11 — Human Work and User Reality
- Chapter 12 — Operating Principles and Company Standards
This path is the best route for someone who needs to understand both the burden and the discipline of review.
Fast Path 7 — The full serious path
This is the path for the reader who wants the whole machine in the intended order.
Read in this order:
- Founder’s Preface
- Chapter 1 — What SUMMA Is and Why It Exists
- Chapter 2 — The Whole Engine in Plain English
- Chapter 3 — Master Terminology Dictionary
- Chapter 4 — Repo, Git, and GitHub Orientation
- Chapter 5 — Repo Map and Folder Guide
- Chapter 6 — Product Architecture
- Chapter 7 — The Premium Ladder
- Chapter 8 — Criminal Workflow Orientation
- Chapter 9 — Evidence and Review Fundamentals
- Chapter 10 — Advanced Review Behavior
- Chapter 11 — Human Work and User Reality
- Chapter 12 — Operating Principles and Company Standards
This is still the deepest path because it lets the ideas build in the intended sequence.
Final guidance
A fast path is not a shortcut in the cheap sense. It is a guided entry point.
The reader should choose the path that best matches what they need to understand first, then return later to fill in the missing layers. The purpose of the manual is not to trap people in one reading order. The purpose is to help them enter the SUMMA environment intelligently.
The reader should leave this chapter with one central understanding: different readers need different entry points, but all of the paths are different routes into the same machine.
